Nicholas J. DeLuca

Nicholas J. DeLuca, 90, of Hudson, NH passed away peacefully on Friday, May 12, 2017 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House with his loving family by his side. Nicholas was born in Lawrence, MA and was the son of Americo and Elvira (Giarusso) DeLuca, and the widower of Delia Nancy (Tridenti) DeLuca to whom he was married for fifty years.

Nicholas was raised in Lawrence and educated in Lawrence public schools. He was a veteran of WWII in the U.S. Army where he served in Germany. Nicholas also worked for the city of Lawrence D.P.W. for thirty years and for the Lawrence Eagle Tribune as a truck driver for thirty-five years. His legacy was his humble, cheerful nature. His gift was that he knew in his heart that raising a loving family was his life’s work.

He is survived by his four sons: Greg, and his wife Karen DeLuca of Salem, NH, Neil, and wife Doreen DeLuca of Ogunquit, ME, Glenn, and his wife Dale DeLuca of Hampstead, NH, and Dean and his wife Jill DeLuca of York ME. His eight cherished grandchildren: Mark and his wife Maria DeLuca, Evan DeLuca, Callie DeLuca, Ashley DeLuca, Abby DeLuca, Hayley DeLuca, Isabella DeLuca, and Chloe DeLuca, as well as his great-grandchild, Gabrielle DeLuca. Nicholas was predeceased by his siblings, Benedict, Albert, Anthony, Americo, and Sandra DeLuca. He is also survived by his loving companion, Dorothy Lucia, and her children of Hudson, NH.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Monday, May 15, 2017 from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral mass will take place Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at 10:30 am at St. Anne’s Church, 26 Emerson Avenue, Hampstead, NH. Entombment will follow at St. Mary’s Mausoleum, Lawrence.
