My sympathy to the family of Maura (or Red, as I knew her) as well as her devoted partner Zach, for whom the sun rose and set by, for, and on her.
I never met any of her biological family, but I've a grown daughter and can't even begin to conceive of the loss. When I met Red through a mutual friend, I was, at the time, houseless. I had the good fortune have a few opportunities to spend a good chunk of quality time with her, and she once did me the honour of letting me offer her comfort and counsel on a difficult day. The loss of a friend is an all too common reality of living on the fringes of conventional society, but when it is someone like Maura, the sting is all the more painful. She certainly got a lot of living squeezed into the brief time she was alive; she had scores of friends and countless acquaintances, and I never heard anyone express any negative feeling towards or about her. I am enriched for having known her; I know I speak for many others in that sentiment. She will be missed. Never forgotten.

John, Anne, Allison, Catherine, all my cousin's,
Maura's zest for life and vibrant beauty, her old soul, love of animals and infectious laugh will never be forgotten. How fortunate to those of us that called her family. Hoping that her effervescent smile and laughter will remain close in your hearts and mind to carry you through. She is the glisten of new fallen snow, the colors of the rainbow, the ebb and flow of the tides. Maura will never leave you. Look to the sky, that new, bright twinkling star is Maura. With much love to you all. Our lives will never be the same, so glad she came, so glad she came......
Love,
Bridget, Tom and Aaron

My deepest sympathies to Mr. & Mrs. Loosigian, Allison, Catherine, Greg, Andy, to all of Maura's family, and to all of Maura's friends.

Red, Raven, Mara, Maura, Maura the Horror, Punkin. I can't even begin to express what a unique, compassionate, extraordinary, beautiful creature she was. She was a doorway. A link between worlds. She loved everyone and the universe loved her in return.

May her love now carry us all through our grief.
