Marianna S. Ciofolo

Marianna S. “May/Mary” Ciofolo, 95, of North Andover, MA, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March
26, 2024, at Ashland Farms, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 22, 1928, and was the daughter of the late Sebastian and Assunta (Merolla) Genovese, and the beloved wife of the late Angelo J. Ciofolo.

Born in Methuen, MA, and raised in Lawrence, MA, Marianna graduated from Lawrence High School and
went on to work at Greico’s Brothers Department Store as a bookkeeper. She married Angelo, the love
of her life in 1949, after his return from the war. They raised their two daughters, Graceann and Susan, in Lawrence and then in North Andover. Together, Marianna and Angelo owned Mahoney’s Market
in Seabrook, NH, that they ran as family in the summers. Later, she would work at the Internal Revenue Service until her retirement, after which she spent her years enjoying her family. She cared regularly for her grandchildren, delighted her family with her excellent cooking every week for Sunday dinner and spent winters with Angelo in Hobe Sound, FL. She was a loving friend and talented knitter and crocheter, making all of her family members afghans that they cherish to this day.

Marianna was predeceased by her husband, Angelo; parents; and son-in-law, Dino Antico.

Marianna will be dearly missed and is survived by her loving daughters, Graceann Remmes of North
Andover, MA, and Susan Antico of Hampton, NH; sister, Josephine Quaglietta and first cousin, Josephine Genovese, both of Lawrence, MA; and her beloved grandchildren: Kristen D’Errico and her husband Greg, Deanna Wasco, Stephen Remmes, Zachary Antico, and Danielle Connor and her husband Jameson; as well as her five great-grandchildren: Adam, Marianna, Clara, Jackson, and Benny; in addition to several cousins, nieces and nephews and numerous friends.

The family would like to personally thank the staff at Ashland Farms at North Andover for their amazing
help, care, and compassion.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend calling hours on Monday, April 1, 2024, from 4:00
PM to 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. A funeral mass will
take place on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, at 10:00 AM at St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover.
Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen.

In lieu of flowers, the family welcomes donations in Marianna’s name to a charity of your choice.
