Maria F. Teixeira

Maria F. Teixeira of Methuen passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at Lawrence General Hospital. Maria was the beloved wife of the late Jose A. Teixeira. She was born October 26, 1932 in Terceira, Azores, Portugal, the daughter of the late Jose and Maria (Dos Reis) Tavares.

Maria was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother to her adoring children. She was a faithful communicant of the Catholic Church and enjoyed time with family and friends.

Maria is survived by her three children, Fatima Marques of Terceira, Azores, Portugal, Judite Medeiros and husband Antonio of Methuen and Sally Fredella and husband David of Methuen. She also leaves behind two brothers, Helio Tavares and wife Celeste of California and Jose Tavares of Brazil; eighteen grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; several nieces; nephews; and many dear friends.

She was predeceased by her two sons, Américo Teixeira and Helio Teixeira.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Sunday, December 10, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. A funeral mass will be held Monday, December 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM from St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
