Lucille,
You were my big sister, a mother and my best friend. As a child, you always looked after me, protected me from danger, consoled me when I was in distress and was always around to guide me in the right direction. As an adult, you were still always there for me and ready to help in any tough situation. You always put me and the entire family first, never thinking of yourself. It is just now beginning to sink in that I will never see you again or hear your voice again or spend the holidays together. You are and will be so very badly missed.
I will always love you.
Paul

My love, words will never describe how much I love and miss you. The memories we made together will be cherished for the rest of my life. Losing you and Grammpy has been the most difficult change I’ve ever had to endure, but I will be strong because that is what you taught me. You are the most courageous woman I know. Thank you for being the best role model, bestfriend, Grammy, and now guardian angel that ive ever had. I love you my love, and I know that no matter what you will always be a skip and a hop away 💜. Love you forever my angel, give grammpy the biggest hug and kiss for me.
I love you,
Your granddaughter Alicia

I was fortunate enough to have one of the world’s most admirable, gentle and benevolent people as my grandmother. Lucille Pappalardo had such grace in all she did. I remember her as a woman with a beautiful smile to go along with the most alluring heart. A woman with an epic love story. A woman who cared for everyone in her life and truly had no favorites.
Developing cancer was life-altering for Lucille, but it did not under any circumstances define her. It showed our family how strong she was. Instead of giving in to tears, Lucille smiled, laughed and told stories that warmed the hearts of everyone around her.
She had the gift of making us feel wanted, worthy and loved. My grandmother may have passed, but a piece of her is with all of us. Cancer did not win.
God saw her pain
And opened his arms wide
Sent her straight to her parents
With her husband by her side
To my love, Lucille: “In life we loved you dearly. In death we loved you still. In our hearts you hold a place no one can ever fill. Until we meet again. I love you.”
Your Granddaughter,
Kara Gendron
