John Ragonese, 88, of Raymond, NH, formerly of Lawrence, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Mt. Carmel Health Care Center, Manchester, NH with his loving family by his side. John was born in Lawrence and was the son of Salvatore and Madeline (Peters) Ragonese.
John was raised and educated in Lawrence and proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy and U.S. Air Force for over twenty years seeing action during World War II, Korea, and Vietnam. After he returned from service, he became a successful business man, owning and operating Four Seasons Family Supermarket for thirty-five years with his family at his side. He had a love for real estate, horse racing, and long drives around the city. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and his family meant the world to him. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.
John is survived by his loving wife of sixty years, Margaret M. (Pappalardo) Ragonese of Raymond, NH; his loving children, Salvatore J. Ragonese and his wife Amy of Merrimac, MA, Frances M. Czarnec and her husband Ralph of Raymond, NH, Margaret M. Pandelena of Raymond, NH, Alfio J. Ragonese and his wife Debra of Lawrence, and John A. Ragonese of Hampton, NH. John also leaves his twelve cherished grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren; his sisters, Millie Ragonese and Gloria Ragonese, both of FL; and many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother, Domenic Ragonese.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Friday, April 28, 2017 from 9:00 to 11:00 am at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His funeral service will follow the visiting hours at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Lawrence.
