John T. Matthews

John T. Matthews, 39, of North Andover passed away unexpectedly on May 10, 2017. John was born in Methuen and was the son of the late Shirley (Hoffman) Matthews and Alfred Matthews of North Andover.

John was raised in North Andover and was a graduate of St. Michael’s Grammar School, Central Catholic High School class of 1996, and Merrimack College where he focused on accounting. He worked as the co-owner with his father at Matthews Insurance Agency and Real Estate Company in Lawrence.

He is survived by his father, Al Matthews of North Andover; his loving daughter, Samantha of North Andover; and his former wife, Stacie. He is also survived by his siblings, Tracey and her husband David of North Andover and Tricia of Lawrence; many nephews; and his close friend, Ted Grimley of North Andover.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Tuesday, May 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Burial services will be private at the request of the family.
