Welcome to the memorial page for

James J. Gosselin

June 11, 1968 ~ May 27, 2017 (age 48) 48 Years Old

James J. Gosselin, 48, passed away Saturday, May 27, 2017 at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston.  He was born in Lawrence and was a graduate of the Greater Lawrence Technical School.  Jim worked for many years as an assembler at Thermo Fisher Scientific in Franklin, MA.

Jim was a person who touched people's hearts everywhere he went.   Whether you knew him as Jimmy John, James, Jimmy, The Goose, Rambo, Uncle Jim or Grandpa you always knew he would be there.   He was a quiet spoken, gentle, kind, patient, friendly, easy going person.  He enjoyed life.  From just listening to a "good story", taking trips to New Orleans, cruising, spending time at the "lake", watching a good game, chatting online, playing online games, watching a good movie (that’s a classic), listening to music, going to concerts, going to amusement parks, hitting the casinos, having a good meal and let’s not forget taking a nap! But anyone who knew Jim will tell you that the most important thing in his life was spending time with family and friends.  That was what made him special in so many ways to so many people. Jim always had a smile even though he had to battle so much of his life with illness.  You would never know it.  He didn't complain he just kept fighting.  He is now at peace getting a well-deserved rest!  We will all miss him very much!

He was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor (LaCourse) Gosselin.

Jim is survived by his fiancé, Marie Murphy of Franklin, MA; father, Robert Gosselin of Lawrence; brother, Robert Gosselin and his wife Ellen of N.J.; sister, Bonnie Bergeron and her husband Mark of Methuen; step-son Eric; grandchildren, Haileigh and Emily; nieces, Rachael, Brianna and Kayla; nephew, Matthew and his beloved dog Baxter.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s hospital who provides free care to children with cancer.

Dress for the memorial service should be as casual as you are comfortable with.   Jim was a tee-shirt and jeans guy and would want everyone to be comfortable.

“The only think you take with you when you’re gone is what you leave behind.”   John Aliston.
