Isabella Carmela Fusco died peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, at Merrimack Valley Hospice surrounded by those who loved her.
Isabella, 86, was born and raised in Lawrence and lived most recently in Methuen. She will be missed by all those whose lives she touched with her love and caring assistance.
Isabella was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School in Lawrence, and Boston University. She spent her career working for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Following her retirement, she worked tirelessly for twenty years as a daily volunteer at Holy Rosary Church at Lawrence’s Corpus Christi Parish.
Isabella will be remembered for her many good works. She lived a life of service to God, her church, family, friends, and even complete strangers through her involvement in many charitable organizations. She was a member of St. Rita’s Sodality, Blessed Virgin Mary Sodality, was a Eucharistic Minister, and served as a lector. This year, Isabella was honored with the Bishop Chevrus Medal for service to her church.
She is predeceased by her parents, Mario and Giulia (Lonardo) Fusco, of Lawrence, and her brother, Gabriel Fusco of CT.

She is survived by her sister-in-law, Eleanor (Izzo) Fusco of CT; her nieces, Cynthia (Fusco) Scofield and husband Donald, Paula Fusco, and Lisa (Fusco) Moffat and husband Douglas, all of CT; her nephew, Stephen Fusco and wife Deborah of CT, and many great nieces and nephews; cousins, Rita Lonardo of Methuen, Donna Arcidiacono of NH, Gabriel DeFilipo of North Andover, David DeFilipo of Salisbury Beach, and Angel Jean Chiaramida of Kingston, NH.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Corpus Christi Parish at Holy Rosary Church, 35 Essex St., Lawrence. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
