Dorothy F. Nazzaro, 86, of Methuen, formerly of Belmont, MA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 23, 2017. She was the daughter of the late Thomas and Agnes (O’Malley) Conboy and wife of the late Anthony J. Nazzaro.

Raised and educated in Dorchester, Dorothy went on to work for Walter Baker Chocolates and the Fernald School in between raising her daughter, Lisa Marie. She and her husband were also one-time proprietors of the Swan River Motel in Dennisport, MA, which allowed them to enjoy summers on the Cape.

Born into a large Irish family, she and extended family could always be found at the Saint Patrick’s Day parade in South Boston. Although proud of her Irish heritage, she embraced her husband’s Italian roots and soon became an extraordinary cook. She was famous for her bracciole, delicious cakes, and people always looked forward to receiving her homemade gingerbread houses during the Christmas season. She was loved by family and friends for many reasons, but especially for her ability to make people laugh with her great wit and being a natural caregiver.

Dorothy was predeceased by her beloved husband of fifty-five years, Anthony J. Nazzaro; her parents, Thomas and Agnes Conboy; siblings, Richard and Thomas Conboy, Maura Ahern, Helen Conley, Marie Waterman, and Janet Cody.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Lisa Marie and Frederick Ryer of Salem, NH; her two beloved grandchildren, Zachary Peter and Nicholas William Ryer; her sister, Virginia Pinto; and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, August 4, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley Street, Methuen. Her Celebration of Life service will take place on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Rockingham Christian Church, 5 Industrial Way # 2, Salem, NH. Burial will take place on Monday, August 7th at 11:30 am at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, MA. For directions or to send condolences please visit www.cataudellafh.com.
