December 5, 1942 ~ April 14, 2024 (age 81) 81 Years Old

Tribute

Donald A. Boyer, 81, of Pelham, NH, and formerly of Cape Coral, FL, passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2024. The son of Albert and Rita (Hall) Boyer, Don grew up in Nashua, NH and attended Nashua public schools. He was also the first member of Boy Scout Troop 253 in Nashua to achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.

After graduating from Nashua High School in 1960, he enlisted in the US Air Force. His first jobs out of the service were as an industrial arts teacher in Lowell, MA, and a driver’s ed instructor. He used all of these skills to establish Boyer Auto Body & Sales in Hudson, NH, along with his brother, Norman. Don retired in 2002.

Never one to sit around, he was known for using his hands not only for fixing cars and other machines, but also building several houses and working with heavy equipment. Don had a keen eye for planting, gardening and landscaping and he always took pride in his yard.

A lifelong avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, hiking and snowmobiling, his sporting trips took him to Alaska, British Columbia, Montana, Idaho, New Mexico and the North Pole, among other places. His trophies included a grizzly bear, mountain lion, doll sheep, mountain goats, elk, moose, caribou and musk ox. He was a member of the board of the NE chapter of Safari Club International.

Don’s longtime loving companion, Donna Panarello, predeceased him by mere weeks and we know he will be happy to have joined her again. Don leaves behind three children with his first wife, Nancy, and their spouses: Lisa Chicko (Todd) of Londonderry, NH; Leeann Doherty (Jay) of Concord, NH; and Matthew Boyer (Jen) of Warner, NH; as well as eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He also leaves Donna’s children, whom he thought of as his own: Dina Torris (Joe) of Methuen, MA; Denise Gaskill (Leo) of Cocoa Beach, FL; and Donald Oslen, Jr., of Portland, OR; as well as their children and grandchildren.

Services are private. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to High Pointe Hospice House, 360 North Ave, Haverhill, MA 01830.
