David J. Credit, 64, of Methuen passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at home with his family by his side. David was born in Haverhill, MA and was the son of the late Arthur Credit and Arlene (Bernard) Credit.
David was raised and educated in Haverhill and was a graduate of Haverhill Trade School. He enjoyed his lifetime of work as a Maintenance Supervisor at Brentwood Furniture in Haverhill. This was his home away from home. Dave was a jack of all trades and was able and willing to help all in need. He was a member of the National Guard and received a notice of recognition for his excellent performance operating heavy duty equipment during the Blizzard of 1978. He was active at Saint Monica’s Church as a Eucharistic Minister prior to his illness.
He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Deborah A. (Finnerty) Credit of Methuen; his daughter, Chrissy Beckwith and her husband Derek, of Haverhill; his stepson, Scott Finnerty and his wife Kristee of NC; his cherished grandchildren, Jake , Ava, and Emma Beckwith, and David Finnerty; his siblings, Edward Credit and his companion Maureen Turcotte of Dracut, Larry Credit and his wife Margaret of FL, Thomas Credit and his companion Kathy Burnyshafski of Bradford, Judith Betts and her husband Larry of Haverhill, Kathleen Shoemaker and her husband Frank of Methuen, and Susan Linnehan and her husband Andy of Haverhill; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was predeceased by his brother, George Credit.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visiting hours on Wednesday, March 29, 2017 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His mass of Christian burial will take place on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 11:00am at St. Monica Church, 212 Lawrence St., Methuen. Burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Haverhill.
