Concettina M. Giarrusso

Concettina “Connie” (Maccarone) Giarrusso, 92, of North Andover, passed away peacefully Monday, September 25, 2017 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House. She was born in Lawrence and was the daughter of the late Senzio Maccarone and Catherine (Leonardi) Maccarone. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Joseph T. Giarrusso; and her siblings, Rosario (Mac) Macarione, Louis Maccarone, Alfred Maccarone, and Angelina Aliano.

Connie is survived by her sons, Anthony Giarrusso of North Andover, MA; Samuel Giarrusso and his wife, Alice of Amherst, NH; grandsons, Joseph, Mark and his wife Leah (Blalock) and great-grandson Jack, and Joseph Giarrusso and his wife Diane (Hilchey-Chandler) and granddaughter Corey of Methuen. She also leaves many dear nieces and nephews.

Connie was educated in the Lawrence schools. She worked and retired from Lucent Technology. Connie loved to shop and loved finding a bargain. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends and summers at the beach. She was known as a very caring and loving person to everyone with whom she came into contact.

The Giarrusso family would like to express their appreciation and sincere thanks to Merrimack Valley Hospice for their tremendous care and compassion.

Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend visiting hours on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 6, 2017 at St. Michael Church, 196 Main Street, North Andover. Burial will follow in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, North Andover.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to the Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack St., Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843- 9924.
